Today I saw

So, today was not a fantastic birding day, too windy and overcast :(         But I did get to see and hear some cool stuff.

I saw a Golden-crowned Kinglet for the first time, they are tiny cute little birds. I also saw a Ruby-crowned Kinglet,

Black crested titmouse,

Cedar Waxwing

wild turkey,

Black and white warbler, they are a beautiful LOUD little bird its in the same family as the Golden-cheeked warbler and their chipping sound they make to their fledglings is the same as the Golden-cheek, so I have spent a lot of time chasing the wrong bird!!!!

and heard a pack of coyotes!!!!! The coyotes in  Texas are huge!!!!!

I didn't take these pictures but I figured pictures make everything more interesting!!!!

  1. Liza- these are great. I know last year you got some fabulous shots with whatever lens you were using. (A telephoto?) When I tried to reciprocate, and catch little birds on a rail outside a bar in downtown Amherst, MA, where Hannah's friend was holding her graduation reception all I could capture was a dirt-brown blur. they laughed at me, those birds! You should have seen me trying to sneak up on them, leaning out over the rail, aiming for the tree. They just hopped down to the sidewalk and continued feeding. I was rather sloshed, but still blame it on inadequate equipment/technique.

  2. I didn't take these I have simple point and shoot I wish I had a camera good enough! But the pics you end up seeing from me are about 1 out of every 100 that I take. There are many many many of them that are just a blurry tree or branch or who knows what!
