I got a job!!!

Yay!!!!
I got a job! Working at an IGA Grocery store. I start next week. It's obviously not what I am here for but it will pay the bills. And unlike the IGA's back home it is really nice, clean store. Not sure how much I get paid but from talking with the guy whin interviewed and hired me apparently if you work on Saturday you get paid extra and if you work on Sunday you get paid even better. But the most coveted days to work are national holidays and apparently Australia day is coming up and if I prove myself to be a good worker I might just be lucky enough to get scheduled to work on Australia day. Its kind of funny to me that its a reward to work on a holiday. I would be happy to work open to close Saturday, Sunday and any holiday.

At the moment the plan (subject to change at the drop of a hat) is to stay in the Melbourne area for 3 to 4 months putting away money to make sure that if I get the opportunity to volunteer on a project I have the money set aside to do it.

A friend of mine just sent me a few more contacts for potential field tech jobs over here so today or tomorrow I will be emailing them and hopefully setting up a tech position soon.

But in the mean time I am really enjoying being here. This area is a multicultural hot spot the food is amazing the people are great to watch. Hopefully with starting this job I will start making friends. And I am working on finding a place to stay that is not a Hostel. The hostel has been a good experience but it is to expensive for what it is plus people are not very neat (yeah I know that coming from me hahaha!!). No I mean the kitchen is just eewwww most of the time and it gets cleaned like 3 times a day but its still just gross and makes wanting to cook very hard plus it would be nice to go to sleep with out really loud drunk people out side my window.

Well I'm off to write up some Hi my name is Aliza and I am fantastic and this is why you should bring me on as apart of your research project emails.
Lots of love
