So I got my phone the other day. Since I know no one I haven’t really used it. But I find the most amazing feature on it and I think all phones should have it. It’s called a fake call when someone is talking to you and you want to get out of the conversation you hold down a key for like 3 seconds close your phone and about 5 to 10 seconds later you get a call. No one is there it’s just your phone ringing but you can use the call as an excuse to leave a conversation. How freaking fantastic is that and who the hell has ever heard of that feature on a phone! I am in love with the idea and am now looking for a reason to use it!
I went into the city the other day it was fantastic! I think I’m really going to like this place. I mean its green in every direction with amazing birds everywhere you go. Not to mention Chinese, Japanese, and Taiwanese food on every corner right next to the coffee shops!!!
I was talking to Hannah the other day about finding that place that feels like home to use as my refuge when I feel homesick. I think she said hers was Dominos or Pizza Hut. Well I think I found mine Target!!! It was so strange walking in there the store was a little different and the layout was really odd it’s a 3 story store. But it still felt so familiar walking around in there. It is really amazing how a little familiarity with a place changes your whole outlook. I also wear a watch with the time back home set on it. Partly because I haven’t figured out how to change it but mostly because knowing what the time is at home is comforting in a strange way makes me feel a little more connected. Maybe because I can then see what someone might be doing right now back home almost like I was there with them not on the other side of the world.
I got some really good pictures of Sulfur-crested Cockatoos today in the park. I really enjoy watching them. Though it makes me a little sad at the same time thinking about Baby and why she was the way she was.
They are not meant to be caged and alone all the time. They are a very social creature, the group I was watching were constantly communicating with each other and when they would fly off they would still talk with very loud calls. They are very active birds flying and jumping every few minutes and constantly foraging and chewing on the trees. The first time I saw them they were foraging on the grass plucking blades of grass chewing on them for a few seconds and then moving on to a new blade. It makes a lot of since to me now that Baby was so loud and needed and bitchy because that is exactly how they are in the wild, she was just being a Cockatoo.
